Dear Praying Friend of the Children,
 
Our staff who attended the CEF* International Conference had a wonderful and inspiring time!  Thank you so very much for praying for them.  The theme was
 
Around the World in 80 Years!
 
It is CEF's goal to have established ministries in all 207 countries of the world by 2017 - CEF's 80th anniversary year!  Currently, we are in more than 150 countries.  There were 89 of the countries represented at the conference!  An offering for SPAN* (Sponsor-A-National CEF worker) was taken and more than $200,000 was given in cash and 12-month pledges.  Because of CEF national workers, the goal of Around the World in 80 Years is reachable.
 
PRAISE THE LORD:
1. On average, more than 7,120 children accepted Christ as Savior every single day in 2007 through CEF ministries!
 
2. There are currently 114,190 children enrolled in 3512 Good News Clubs* being held in 2534 elementary schools here in the USA!  So far, more than 15,000 of those children have made professions of faith in Jesus as Savior!
 
3. 110 copies of the Wonder Book* were accepted by students at the Brooklyn College Jesus Day activities - some for personal use, some for their children and some for distribution through Sunday school classes and in neighborhoods!
 
PLEAE PRAY FOR US:
1. For at least a few more summer missionaries to serve with Josiah Maddox and Hannah Maddox (our 2008 Summer ICE team).  Please pray for wisdom for our planning for the summer 5-Day Club* program with such a limited summer staff.
 
2. Elisa and Helen will be working with many others at the Christian Mother's Day Celebration at the Moore Homestead Park in Elmhurst, Queens.  There will be gospel face painting as well as Wonder Book distribution (May 10th from 10am - 3pm). 
 
3. Joan's (our CEF office manager) mother (who lives in Virginia) has been diagnosed with bladder cancer.  Tomorrow, she will be undergoing extensive dianostic testing to determine the extent of the cancer and the recommended course of treatment.  Joan will be traveling to be with her for a few days.
 
Please don't forget to pray for the 2,900,000 children living in our ministry area!
